In 1998 I was unaware that my successful attainment of my first TAFE qualification would
set me on a path that would entwine my professional career with the use of Information Communication Technologies in higher learning and industry settings. As a hobby to start with, I was motivated to understand how I could learn new things about the Internet and World Wide Web. This occurred as my own experience of study showed me that I learned best through the use of a mix of Information Communication Technologies. These included new media such as databases, weblogs, social networking websites such as Facebook.com and Youtube.com, email lists and online news groups as opposed to traditional methods. Over time these interests saw me developing skills that would allow me to develop, design and implement, without programming, Information Systems that could assist others who learn in different ways. My aim was to achieve more flexible online learning styles for people who had difficulties in learning using traditional approaches to learning and teaching.
