I then became interested in researching the user uptake and usability of some of the open source learning models I had designed. My 6 year tenure with the Queensland University of Technology allowed me to undertake the completion of my graduate certificate of Digital Media. I was then able to complete a course work masters of Creative Industries, specialising in Communication and Design. I then successfully applied for a QUT/APA
scholarship that would allow me to undertake my masters of Arts by research degree, full-time and part-time, which I completed in 2010. My eventual aim was to attempt a doctorate of philosophy.
My post graduate study has allowed me to develop advanced interaction and design, usability, website design; the design of bespoke content systems management systems, business analysis and new media research skills. My research background also allows me to perform literature reviews, the design and management of research
projects, the creation of technical documentation, the design and performing of one-on-one interviews, the design and facilitation of focus groups, as well as the design of research methods and methodologies. These diverse and up-to-date skills of design and research allow me to examine websites and software applications and assess their design, information architecture fundamentals, business potential and usability needs and
requirements. Currently I am employed as an e-business support consultant with Australia’s largest e-mail and web hosting provider MelbourneIT. This role has helped me to gain an understanding of not only MelbourneIT and our customers but to further develop my own professional ethos and creative practice. I believe my
professional ethos and creative practice fosters a compassionate approach to customer services and information systems design. I submit my online portfolio for your consideration.
