The design solution evolved after identifying an open-source software production which meant all of the selection criterion for this project.

The eventual product chosen was Wordpress-Mu which is a multi-user multi-site weblog. Wordpress-mu allows for up to 320,000 users to have their own web blog portal and administration console with their own website address. Web 2.0 integration is achieved through the use of plugins and customised themes. More

To achieve the best interaction and design approach to integrate the functionality common in social networking sites such as Flickr.com and Myspace.com an examination of new trends in interaction and design theory was carried out. Web 2.0 seemed to be the interaction and design approach which best facilitated design solutions to solve the design solution problem.

Data for musicological research might as easily be a video or an audio recording as a text or notated transcript.  The management, organization and presentation of these data involve textual analysis and presentation in written form which can often exclude the compelling aspects of digitaly recored music and sound performances. This paper focuses on the development of an approach through case studies of five music postgraduate students.
