To create my website I purchased a web hosting account with an internet service provider.The cost of the domain name is about $30.00 a year and the hosting package costs around $15.00 a month. I
use an Australian company called Digital Pacific Pty Ltd.

I know that their are cheaper web hosting companies but I like dealing with an Australian company that provides high quaility technical support in Australia.

To host my site I use a Weblog software program called Wordpress Mu which can be found at http://mu.wordpress.org. For a single user blog, which is a great idea for beginners, I would recommend Wordpress 2.6 which can be found here at http://wordpress.org.

The other option is to use one of the free public social network working sites like http://www.ning.com or or http://worpdress.com.
